Reflections and Feedback:
" Imann and I also met with the college zone team. I think they are a great asset to the program and hope they realize how much value they provide even if the students don't always seem interested. The mentors definately appreciate it. I think the ACT prep course coming up will be great."

all have created for the kids is remarkable, and your work is truly
inspiring. I hope to some day become re-involved with the program when I
am able to truly dedicate myself to those I work with."

The main reason why I am doing this work is because it is a good feeling when you have the chance to make an impact, not only in your program, but in the region that your program participates in... it's amazing!!!…”

-Tajera Beacham (CC Alum)
“The gifts that were offered by the tutoring program to my peers and myself should be shared around the world. They have helped me personally throughout my journey. There are so many children that deserve a chance to become their best and nothing less. And if I can do anything to help, gratefully I will. I can honestly say if it had not been for the tutoring program I would not be the person I am today. And actually, I'm doing pretty well!"

" After leaving Cabrini Connections, I went on to Illinois State University and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's in Psychology. In June 2007, I graduated with my Master's in Clinical Psychology, specialization in Counseling. In September 2007, I got a job working with homeless adolescents as a Clinical Therapist at the Counseling Center of Lakeview. I have been at this job for two years and enjoying the flexibility of the work I do as well as the team I am apart of and the exposure that I receive. I am now the mother of a beautiful 10 month old daughter, Ashera.
I am still in contact with my mentor, Ilene Fine, who pushes me to the limit. I am thankful to have had Ilene in my life when I wasn't sure what to do with myself. I believe she came into my life when I was in 7th grade, so 16 years later, (time flies) we still talk pretty regular and meet for lunch on occasion.
